Reality Bites

Is it just me or is it just way too much realism in movies these days ? Or is it just plain blood and gore under the cover of reality?
If Paruthi Veeran's heroine getting nailed to the wall kindof shocked me,Apocalypto left me absolutely dazed. I haven't seen that much blood and brutality onscreen in a long time. Ripping a still-beating heart out of a man( and the director takes his own sweet time in showing the ripped out beating heart ,covered with blood, from all angles),blood gushing out of a head wound, jaguar tearing a man's face to pieces, balls being pulled out of a dead boar..yea you want more of this, you should watch Apocalypto. Its a bloodbath.
After that fiasco,I decided to watch Babel.Pretty decent movie with 3 stories that seemed to have some contrived connection to each other. But ,then again, even this guy couldnt resist sticking to the reality norm.Wringing a hen's neck and plucking off its head, stitching the heroine's gun shot wound using a heated needle(of course,no anaesthisia, she was alive and kicking and screaming all the while).
Reality Bites. When is the next Captain movie being released? Nothing like some serious humor to get me back to earth.

Life explained

If life is all about how to iron a shirt, how to eat sushi, how to deal with a hangover, how to apply three shades of eyeshadow(! wouldnt one suffice?) ,how to change a tyre, how to be lazy around the house and get away with it,then this site explains it all

http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-be-lazy-around-the-house-and-get-away-with-it

Life explained. Though i am not sure if there is a step wise procedure for the above mentioned topic,i definitely did learn how to iron a shirt here !!

Sahaana..

Never found the enthu to listen to Sivaji songs till today.Really no idea why.considering its Rajini+Shankar+ARR.Plus 2 of my friends writing rave reviews about it.

First hearing, Oru koodai sunlight and sahana are impressive. The rest are yet to register .
Sahana transports me to snow-capped mountains.Rajini and Shreya in bizarre hairdo, furry coat for Rajini,Shreya in a skimpy blue satin saree (poor thing). And,funny ,this song reminds me of "Vaa vaa vaa vaa kanna va" from Velaikaaran.Perhaps, thats y the snow caps and all ;-)

Oru koodai sunlight might be Rajini doing the yo-yo,coolers,african pleats hairdo, jazzy jeans n jacket. Rags has done a great job ,with his accent,in this song. This is what Americanised Tamizh might sound like !!

We wait and watch, till May 17th ,in deutschland.

Tulipomania

Nope,I just don't have it in me to write poetry.
But I loved this combo of flowers at Keukenhof.
The passion of pink amidst the boldness of orange.Wow!

Mindblock - BRB

Writing a blog post is like a butterfly. The more you try to catch it,the more it eludes you. But,if you just sit still and leave it alone,it'll settle itself on your shoulder.
Hmm.I've been sitting on it for a while now.Nothing seems to be flowing.

The original quote here :
"Happiness is a butterfly, which when pursued ,is always just beyond your grasp, but which,if you will sit down quietly ,may alight upon you"
- Nathaniel Hawthorne

What the ..?

What is it that I miss most about my motherland, ever since I landed in Germany ??
Nope, its not rasam, sambar, vaazhakkaa poriyal or sun tv's "indhiya tholaikaatchiyil mudhal muraiyaaga ,thiraikku vanthu sila maathangaley aana" dabba movies..its English !
God,how is it humanely possible for a well-developed country to survive without English ? Beats me! Perhaps I feel that way, since in India, knowing English is supposedly the mark of being "highly educated" .But here,I feel like an absolute illiterate.Everytime someone starts to speak German,as a general rule,I keep an absolutely stupid dumbfounded look on my face, and the other person finally asks "English?" .Then I vigorously nod my head and they look at me with so much sympathy.jeez..since when did knowing English become that degrading ?
Worse, they dont seem to understand our English.
Once,my husband had called the receptionist from our room to ask for a shower cap.he simply said "i need a shower cap".And that guy had the audacity to reply "Sorry, can you speak in English ?I dont understand Indian." . I wonder whether he didnt understand the word "shower cap" or whether our way or pronouncing shower cap is so "Indian".
Anyways, looks like The Almighty has sent me to learn one big lesson ."Never take anything for granted in life ,even English."
